Who we are:
The Mission: Do Good
The Greentree Project is a company committed to the growing trend of recycling footwear. We collaborate with major retailers to repurpose their gently worn returned footwear and apparel. We believe that quality fashion deserves a second chance, and we work tirelessly to make that available to our customers.
We have created a zero waste model that puts high quality footwear back in the hands of consumers. We introduce brands to consumers in new markets. We keep footwear out of landfills and in the hands of people that need them. In short, we do good.
We continue to build relationships with new brands, check back with us often.
Charity
The Greentree Project has partnered with Helpsy, a certified B Corp and Public Benefit Corporation, Helpsy's mission is to keep clothing out of the trash and provide honorable work. Helpsy collects, sorts, and trades secondhand clothes and shoes. In 2023 alone, their team collected over 31 million lbs of clothes, shoes, and other items. Helpsy is the official textile recycling partner of 48 municipalities in the Philadelphia area.
The impact of their efforts speaks volumes:
They have saved nearly 6 billion gallons of water and nearly 207 million pounds of CO2 emissions from new clothing creation.
They have paid more than $500,000 to charities and municipalities for bin placements, clothing drives, purchased materials, and donations.
They have saved municipalities more than $1.3 million in waste disposal tipping fees.
They are the only Certified B Corp and now Public Benefit Corporation in clothing collection.
They have also helped dozens of brands become more sustainable by responsibly reusing their unwanted goods, damages, and returns.
